A match that was divided after last Thursday’s suspended play and yesterday afternoon, the Portland girl’s JV golf team took a twenty-three stroke victory over Lansing Catholic to remain undefeated, with a 12 and 0 league record, with one divisional jamboree remaining to play. Played at the Groesbeck Golf Course in Lansing, the Raiders shot a seven-hole match team score of 170 to Lansing Catholic’s 193. Ionia and Williamston were unable to post team scores do to not having a minimum of four individual scorers.
Scoring for Portland was: JV match co-medalist, Hannah Schrauben and Grace Sines who each shot a 42. Aana Thompson and Josie Goodman both finished with rounds of 43.
The JV and varsity golf teams travel to Williamston tomorrow to play in the fourth and final regular season divisional jamboree at the Brookshire Golf Course.
The varsity girls golf team finished yesterday’s postponed jamboree in 2nd place just 7 strokes behind LCC’s 198. Low scorers for the match were Allison Sandbrook 48, Macey Schrauben 49, Julia Savage 54, Taylor Trierweiler 54. The team travels to Williamston on Thursday for the final league jamboree in sole possession of 2nd place in the league.
