Girls Junior Varsity Basketball · JV Girls Get Another Win

They say revenge is sweet, SO that must mean revenge over a rival school must be “sweeter”!   The JV Lady Raiders basketball team got to experience that last night as they put the smack on the Ionia Bulldogs 31-18, avenging an earlier season 8 pt loss.

The girls much-improved defense continued their recent ways chaining up the Bullpups and holding them to 12 points less than their first encounter.   It takes a TOTAL TEAM effort to be a good defense; Hannah Schrauben continued reeking havoc in the passing lanes, Jada Spitzley, Alexis Jones, and Grace Sines controlled the boards, while Ari Babcock and Madison Lockwood dug-in every chance helping, trapping, and diving on the floor.

Offensively the ladies continued taking care of the ball, cutting their turnovers in half the past 3 games.  Balanced scoring is the team goal and Sophie Novara lead the way on the offensive end with 10 points and 4 assists and Brooke Seal followed her up with 7 points and some solid ball handling.

The Lady Raiders will be at home Tuesday January 30th verse Lakewood and are hungry for another W!
