Raiders News · Both Golf Teams Hole Best Scores of the Season


In a non-conference, tri match played yesterday afternoon at the Portland County Club, the varsity boy’s golf team out shot both the Central Montcalm Hornets and Charlotte Orioles. The Raiders finished with a season’s best nine-hole team score of 176 to Central Montcalm’s 194 and Charlotte’s 200. Scoring for the Raiders was:  match medalist Zach Pier who shot a three-over par 39; Kyle Leonard finished with 43; Evan Foreback carded 46 and Devin Miller rounded out the Raiders scoring with a 48.

With six golf events remaining on the regular season schedule, the varsity boy’s golf team currently has a solid hold on third place in the CAAC White Division with a 12 and 8 record. The Raiders have a 2-1 record in non-conference matches and have a 29-11-1 record in tournament matches.

The Raiders return to the links Thursday afternoon when they travel to Ionia to play in the fifth divisional jamboree of the season at Shadow Ridge Golf Course.

Last night the JV golf team hosted the fifth Jamboree of the season. The Raiders showed how much they improved this season. They put together the best round of the season. The guys shot a 189 which was three strokes short of taking first place. Scoring for the Raiders were Jared Thomas and Spencer Pohl with a 46, Luke Nobis with a 48, and Adam Foote with a 49. The teams next action is Monday as the play in their last Jamboree of the season hosted by Lansing Catholic.
