Boys Freshmen Basketball Gets Two More Wins

The freshman boys basketball won two games this week beating Charlotte 37-23 and Ionia 35-26 to improve to 7-3. Good team efforts in both games with Grant Ruddy and Skiburne Buckland leading the way against Charlotte. Then against Ionia, Trevor Williams and Luke Nobis led the way offensively with Landon Rodriguez cleaning up the boards. 

JV Girls Ballers Get a Win Over Charlotte

Girls Basketball Defeats Charlotte

The varsity girls basketball team defeated Charlotte 52-38. The Raiders were led by Ava Gruber with 15 points and  Shelby Battley, Olivia Sandborn and Lesley Barker all with 10 points. The girls’ next action is Friday when they travel to Ionia.

Raider Wrestlers Have 3 Firsts at Ithaca Individuals; Team First Overall

The Raider Wrestling team placed first in a thirteen team individual tournament on Saturday, January 20.  Portland won 3 of 4 finals matches, won all 4 in the consolation finals and won 2 of 3 of the 5th place matches. 103-Brendan Wartella – 3rd place 112-Jacob Vroman – 5th place 130-Marty Thelen – 3rd place

The freshman boys basketball team beat Williamston 62-48 to improve to 5-3 on the year. Nice games by Grant Ruddy with 18 and Luke Nobis with 14 points with solid team defensive effort. Boys basketball hosts a triple header here vs Charlotte on Tuesday.

Raider Wrestlers Battle Hard Against Top Ranked ER

Raider Wrestlers Win Silver Pool at Alma Invite

The Raider wrestlers won the Silver Pool Championship with a 4 – 1 dual meet record.  Portland started the day with two victories over Lakeview 63-12 and Leslie 43-30, before losing to Alma 48- 26.  In the Silver Pool Portland had victories over Clare 58 – 19, and Beaverton 58-18.
